I felt this solo release brought out a couple sentiments I've held over the years and that's you being an underrated guitarist and singer. I mean it can't be easy playing onstage next to Luther or Marc [Ford] and Audley [Freed] back in the day or singing harmonies with Chris. Is this album a way to show those skills to those that may have not noticed before?
I've always looked at myself more as a songwriter than a guitar player. I love playing guitar and that is my instrument though. Marc‚ Luther and Audley are all great guitar players. It's kind of cool to do it on my own now with this record. You reach a point in your life where you still have way more to learn and all I'm trying to do is get better. Write better songs‚ play better guitar. Hopefully people get something out of what I do and that's really the best thing.
