It's 26 degrees where I am. Gray. I (truly) do love winter‚ but mostly because it makes the summer seem that much better. So today's announcement of this year's Mountain Jam gives me warm‚ sunglassed‚ bare-shouldered tingles.
Gov't Mule once again headline two nights of the fest‚ and the biggie this year is The Allman Brothers‚ celebrating their 40th (!!!) anniversary with an exclusive Northeast festival performance.
Two of my favorite newcomers from last year are back‚ Ray LaMontagne and Jackie Greene‚ and Michael Franti and Spearhead return to give everyone that feel-good set on the hill.
But wait -- there's more!
Get this: a late-night Girl Talk performance. Gov't Mule > Girl Talk?? I think I've seen it all! Nice‚ diverse choices by the promoters.
OK‚ maybe I haven't seen it all yet: Coheed & Cambria are on the lineup‚ joined by The Derek Trucks Band‚ The Hold Steady‚ Richie Havens‚ Railroad Earth‚ Porter Batiste & Stoltz‚ Brett Dennen‚ The Lee Boys‚ Macpodz‚ The Brew‚ U-Melt and Tea Leaf Green.
I'll say it again: diverse. Bravo!
I'll see you at Hunter Mountain May 29-31. Early bird passes go on sale this Monday at Mountainjam.com.
